Before you read on, if you truly want to get a taste of the great work this charity does, or learn more about the people behind CoppaFeel!, please visit coppafeel.org NOW!
Here's a basic briefing of the charity, if you hadn't heard about them before:
CoppaFeel! was founded in 2009 by Kris Hallenga and her twin sister Maren. Both of these women are extremely strong, and AWESOME for setting up this organisation. And, if you've heard of Kris before, you'll also know how inspirational she is.
After finding a lump in her breast, Kris was eventually diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer. There is no stage 5. It was at it's most advanced stage, and Kris has been fighting it ever since.
However, she wouldn't word it like that.
For Kris, since being diagnosed at the age of 23, she has been LIVING. She has been spreading the word that yes, young people CAN be affected by cancer too - it is not just a disease for the older generation.
You may have seen Kris's programme, aired by the BBC, called 'Kris: Dying to Live'. Please try and watch this. If reading about her story does not make you see the importance of CoppaFeel!'s work, then watching this documentary certainly will.
Since the start, CoppaFeel! have been finding new and wondrous ways to spread messages and run campaigns - they hijacked the Houses of Parliament with a projector and their message, and they also hold 'FestiFeel' each year, a festival dedicated to CoppaFeel!'s message that is run and attended by many celebrity supporters.
I could go on and on about the work they do, the messages they spread, and the successes of their past campaigns, but I honestly urge you to go to their website. It explains it all in more detail than I ever could, and I promise you'll learn something you didn't know before.
Just remember to always 'coppafeel'!
